ExpanTek® Model 37 Series Hydro-Expansion Tools - Up to 20,000 PSI (1,380 BAR)

The patented ExpanTek® Model 37 Series Hydro-Expansion Tool is a precision- machined tool providing versatility for use in hydro-expansion applications. The tool is designed for high-pressure expansion of tubing or pipe. Using this unique tool along with a high-pressure system unit, will rapidly expand tubing for refrigeration coils, boilers, tubular assemblies, and many other associated products. Its short, outside collet grip is helpful for applications with short tube ends. The deep tube swallow allows for long non-expanded tube length.

The Model 37 Series Tool can handle English and metric tube and fitting sizes from 0.375” to 1.000” (9.52 mm to 25.40 mm) in diameter. Special sizes and configurations will be considered upon request.

The Model 37 Series Tool has a snap-on coupling suitable for hydro-expansion of tubes with standard OD tolerances needing expansion pressures up to 20,000 PSI (1,380 BAR).

For hydro-expansion, attach the Model 37 Series Tool with optional NuQuip® Automatic Air Bleed to one end of the tube. Adapt the second Model 37 Series Tool to a pressure service line and slip it over the remaining end. Press both tools firmly against the internal stop. When the service line is pressurized to 50 PSI (3.45 Bar), the collets are activated for a positive grip. Continue to pressurize the tube until expansion pressure is reached. Use caution not to exceed maximum pressure rating of the tool. After the tube is expanded and the service line pressure drops to 0 PSI, the collets automatically release, allowing quick removal of the tools from the work piece.
