SelectForm® Handheld Tool

The patented SelectForm® Model 400 Series End Forming Tool accurately forms flares, end expansions (bells), and end reductions with capabilities of forming tube diameters from 1/8” to 1” (3.175 mm to 25.40 mm). Our unique tooling design provides precision sizing of tube and pipe ends. The tools can be hand held and they require little effort to perform a cycle, thereby easing operator fatigue.

The size dedicated end form tooling, used in conjunction with the portable hydraulic power pack, provides for a very quick, easy and precise means of forming the ends of tube and pipe. This tooling is dedicated to producing a specific form on a specific diameter of tube. This patented, compact and lightweight tooling can be brought to the work piece to be formed. The tooling is simply placed over the tube and the operator presses the foot switch. The tooling cycles automatically, producing a finished form in 2 to 5 seconds.

The forming cycle time is 5 seconds or less and the tools are designed for minimal marring of the tube surface. The Series 400 tools are precision machined out of heat treated stainless steel. All end form mandrels are treated for long life while providing accurate forms.

Each tool is made for a specific set of parameters with some flexibility. Among the required parameters are nominal tube OD, maximum wall thickness, and required length of end formation.

The hand held, dedicated Model 400 tools are designed for quick change from one size to another. Connection to the Model 400 Power Pack is through the dual hydraulic hoses, terminated with quick connect couplings.

Advantages of This Tool Include
Standard for tube diameters of 1/8" to 1" (3.175 mm to 25.40 mm)
Rapid operation: 5 seconds or less
All pressure loading is contained within the tool
Tool can be hand-held (Typical tool for 1" (25.40 mm) tube weighs less than 5 lbs.) (2.27 kg.)
Designed to be used with SelectForm® Model 400 hydraulic power pack
Can do expansion, reduction, flare and other shapes
Length of end form can be varied within the same tool (by installing internal spacers)
Non-standard sizes will be considered
No lubrication is required for most applications
