High Pressure Hoses

Airmo offers seven series of high pressure hoses specifically designed to meet the different industrial requirements as well as custom-made hoses for the offshore industry. Airmo hoses are composed of an inner core made of high-grade thermoplastic materials, several layers of high tensile steel wires, and then an outer cover of either polyamide or polyurethane. This combination along with a unique spiral winding process of the reinforcing wires results in a range of flexible hoses that have the following properties.

Pressures to 46,500 PSI (3,200 Bar)
All stainless steel fitting construction
Various configurations available
High Pressure Ratings
Excellent Flow Characteristics
Low Volumetric Expansion
Outstanding Chemical Resistance
Light Weight
Resistant to External pressures
UV and Ozone Resistant

Type 2 and 3 Series hoses are used for flex lancing, heat exchanger tube cleaning and supply hose. They are lightweight and flexible with excellent chemical resistance. These hoses are robust and durable with high burst pressures and are kink resistant. The inside diameters range from 1/8 to 1 inch (3.175 to 25.40 mm) with working pressures from 5,000 up to 17,500 PSI (345 up to 1,200 Bar).

Type 2K and 2W Series hoses are used for hydraulic tooling, pressure testing, and offshore umbilical, which are lightweight and flexible with low volumetric expansion and excellent external pressure resistance. These hoses are also robust and durable with high burst pressures while at the same time providing the ultimate in kink resistance. The inside diameters range from 1/8 to 1 inch (3.175 to 25.40 mm) with working pressures from 6,000 up to 20,000 PSI (415 up to 1,380 Bar).

Type 4 Series hoses are extremely versatile and have been designed for severe service applications in hydraulics such as bolt tensioning, high-pressure water blasting, and in the pressure testing industries. The inside diameters range from 1/8 to ¾ inch (3.175 to 19.05 mm) with working pressures from 14,500 up to 21,000 PSI (1,000 up to 1,450 Bar).

Type 6 and 6K Series hoses offer an outstanding reliability for the toughest and most extreme pressure applications and are widely used in ultra-high water blasting, jet cutting, and hydrostatic testing.

Type 6 and 6H hoses have an inner diameter from 1/8 to ¾ inch (3.175 to 19.05 mm) and working pressures from 20,000 up to 40,600 PSI (1,380 up to 2,800 Bar).

Type 8 Series Ultra-high pressure hoses are designed for water jet cutting, hydro forming, and laboratory operations. Type 8 hoses are available with an inner diameter of 3/16 and 5/16 inch (4.7625 to 7.9375 mm) with working pressures from 40,000 up to 46,500 PSI (2,760 up to 3,200 Bar).

Please specify your application, maximum pressure, media, inner diameter, hose length, quantities, and required fittings at the end of the hoses.

Chemical Resistance

To almost all chemicals, including acids and solvents

Temperature Resistance

Ranging between -22 degrees F to +176 degrees F (-30.0 to 800 degress C) according to materials

Weight Savings

Up to 50% compared with conventional hoses

Weather Resistance

Excellent ozone and UV resistance

Aging Resistance

Optimal even with frequent change of environmental influences, almost no moisture absorption

Dimensions

Favorable ratio between inner diameter and outer diameter, advantageous in space restricted situations

Dimensional Stability

Of internal core due to underwater vacuum calibration

Volumetric Expansion

Extremely low while under pressure, thus less volume of liquid and faster response time

External Pressure Collapse

According to hose type suitable for deep waters on offshore use

Flow Characteristics

Minimal friction loss due to smooth inner core

Assembly

All hose types crimped directly onto outer core

Impulse Resistance

Internal pressure fatigue strength as per DIN 20024/ISO6803

Flexibility

Highly flexible by use of thermoplastic and advanced construction techniques

Pressure Resistance

Safety factors of between 4:1 and 2.5:1 for dynamic loading

Diffusion Resistance

Minimal diffusion rates for most gaseous media

Abrasion Resistance

Outer cover shows value of 50 mm 3 for DIN 53516
