Manufacturing Shop Assistant
Airmo, Inc. is seeking a dependable and motivated Manufacturing Shop Assistant to support daily manufacturing and material handling operations. This position is responsible for assisting with material preparation, saw cutting raw stock, laser etching finished components, cleaning, deburring, buffing and packaging parts, inventory management, and maintaining an organized shop environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level manufacturing employee interested in developing skills in machining, assembly, inventory control, and production support within a precision manufacturing environment.
Schedule
Monday through Friday
First Shift: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
Overtime as required based on production demands
Compensation
$20-26/hour wage range
Depending on experience and whether you have forklift, ERP, and shipping/receiving experience in addtion to shop support experience

Material Preparation
- Saw cut raw materials to required lengths according to work orders, drawings, and production schedules.
- Organize and stage material for machining and assembly operations.
- Verify material types, sizes, and quantities before processing.
- Return unused materials to inventory and maintain proper identification.
Laser Etching and Part Finishing
- Operate laser etching equipment to mark parts per engineering and customer specifications.
- Verify proper placement and reliability of etched information.
- Clean, debur, wash, and prepare parts for shipment or assembly.
- Package completed parts to prevent damage during storage and transportation.
Inventory and Material Management
- Receive incoming materials and verify quantities against packing slips.
- Stock raw materials, purchased parts, and finished goods in designated locations.
- Assist with inventory counts, cycle counting, and inventroy accuracy initiatives.
- Maintain material traceability and identification when required.
- Support shipping and receiving activities as needed.
Shop Support
- Maintian a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts (training provided if needed).
- Assist machinists, assemblers, and production personnel with various shop tasks.
- Follow all company safety procedures and quality requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and workplace organization.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn manufacturing processes
- Ability to read a tape measure and use basic measuring tools
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Dependable attendance and positive work ethic
- Previous manufacturing, warehouse, or shop experience
- Experience operating band saws, laser marking equipment, or material handling equipment
- Familiarity with inventory management systems or ERP software
- Forklift certification or experience
- Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the day
- Push, pull, reach, bend, and stoop as required
- Safely handle metal materials, manufactured components, and shop equipment
